Don’t use any wine in your meals that you wouldn’t drink. You risk the final flavor of any dish if you make it with an unfamiliar wine or one with an off taste. You could try wine that is specifically formulated for cooking purposes.

Create your own stock for tastier dishes. Making a large amount allows you to store some in the freezer for future meals. When you do this, you will have delicious, healthy stock ready-to-use whenever you make soups and stews. Homemade soup stock or bullion is a wonderful way to eliminate high sodium and preservatives that are present in commercially made products from your diet.

When you are making pasta you need to be sure to add a liberal amount of salt to the water. The seasoning will soak into the pasta this way. Pasta that has been salted after cooking may not retain the flavors used in the seasoning and sauce.
